Final project
This piece was done in prismacolor pencil, and depicts an image from a Hawaiian island. I did this piece in the car, on a trip, because I was crunched for time to complete AP Art projects. I began creating this piece by doing the rocks, using blacks, greys, and whites. I used lighter colors to make rock formations, and went in with darker values to add shape and dents and values to the rocks. Then, I began to add the water. I used several different values of blues, whites, and greys for the water to add depth, and movement. The water splashes were done primarily with white in order to depict the image of a splashing wave. For the background, I used several different shades of greens to add values and depth into the plants in the background. I began to use grays in the greens to depict the blurry mountains and the trees in the distance. Then, I began to form the clouds with white and greys pencils. I added a bright blue sky to make the entire piece flow well together color-wise. The tree in the foreground could probably use some highlights to make it pop more, but overall I am happy with how this piece turned out.
