Final Project
For my concentration 6 piece, I will be drawing a pile of leaves which were laying on my back porch last fall. These leaves fit in with my concentration well because there are a few bright colorful leaves which stand out against the other regular brown colored leaves. I will start by coloring the colorful leaves with bright colors, and then going in and filling in the background with the darker brown colored leaves.
This project became very tedious as I started to color the background leaves. All of the dead leaves in the background are similar colors, so it was very difficult to give each of them values and depth. I decided to use different grays and whites to add the shading and highlights to the light purple and brown leaves. If I did this project again, I might choose to do it even smaller so that the tedious leaves don’t take so long to draw.
Overall, I am happy with how this turned out. It was a difficult project, but I feel that it helped me to improve as an artist as I worked on my value and depth skills.
